Tears of Repentance


There are tears when a baby is born in the earth.
There are tears at homecomings with joy and the mirth.
There are tears when a soldier returns to his land.
Tears as a Bridegroom at last holds her hand.

But tears of repentance are the ones God loves best.
Yes those tears of repentance that lets a Soul rest.
There are many kinds of tears this world has cried;
But the tears of repentance is why my Saviour died.

There are tears when a loved one returns to the clay.
Tears at salvation when a Soul has been saved.
Tears when goodbyes come and also hellos.
Tears done in secret that nobody knows.

But tears of repentance are the ones God loves best.
Yes those tears of repentance that lets a Soul rest.
There are many kinds of tears this world has cried;
But the tears of repentance is why my Saviour died.
